成都简介
成都至少在公元前400年就已成为政治和文化中心。在它漫长的历史中，名称发生过多次改变。在汉代（公元前206年-公元220年），它以“锦官城”而闻名，并以富庶赢得了“天府之国”的美誉。在五代时期（公元９０７－９６０年），遍种于城墙（已毁）上的芙蓉又使它被叫做“芙蓉城”。
卫星图像显示的是今天的成都，有约一千万人口，正在极快地扩大。作为地区性的政治、交通、文化以及电力和其它工业的中心，这个城市已吸引了越来越多的外国人士。成都是中国西南的航空枢纽，航空运输服务遍及中国所有的主要城市及许多外国都市。

ABOUT CHENGDU
Chengdu has been a governmental and cultural center since at least 400 B.C.E., undergoing numerous name changes during the course of its long history.
